About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and capable Housekeeping Attendant to join our team at CoVE Upper Mount Gravatt and help maintain the cleanliness, presentation and hygiene of accommodation, public areas and village facilities. You'll also play an important role in creating an exceptional guest experience by maintaining company safety and service standards.
Major Accountabilities
Guest Experience
- Deliver exceptional customer service to guests, visitors and contractors
- Maintain a friendly, professional and approachable manner
- Respect guest privacy and confidentiality
- Respond courteously to guest requests and report maintenance or service issues promptly
- Contribute to a welcoming and comfortable environment for all guests
Housekeeping Operations
- Clean guest rooms, bathrooms and kitchenettes to company standards
- Change linen and replenish items in amenities
- Dust, vacuum, mop and sanitise assigned areas
- Clean public areas including Reception, communal facilities, amenities, offices and recreational spaces
- Clean and maintain staircases and stairwell areas onsite
- Prepare rooms for arriving guests within required timeframes
- Coordinate with the check-in team to finalise room cleaning and ensure rooms are ready before guest arrival where required
- Report damaged items, maintenance issues and lost property
- Follow daily room allocations and complete assigned tasks efficiently
- Maintain housekeeping storerooms in a clean, organised and well-stocked condition
- Handle and store cleaning chemicals safely in accordance with safety data sheets
- assist with scheduled deep cleaning projects
- Operate cleaning equipment safely and correctly
Work Health and Safety
- Follow work health and safety policies and procedures
- Use personal protective equipment as required
- Report hazards, incidents and near misses immediately
- Use safe manual handling techniques
- Use and store chemicals safely
- Participate in workplace safety meetings and training
Teamwork and Property Standards
- Work cooperatively with Property Manager, Reception, Maintenance and other departments
- Support colleagues during busy operational periods
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude and participate in team meetings and training
- Undertake additional duties as directed by the Housekeeping Supervisor or Management
- Ensure accommodation meetings Aspen Group presentation standards
- Identify opportunities to improve cleanliness and efficiency
- Help maintain safe, clean and attractive property at all times
Qualifications
- No formal qualifications are required
- Current driver's license is desirable
Experience and Capabilities
- Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience is required; hotel, resort, FIFO village or commercial cleaning experience is highly desirable. Bond cleaning experience is not required
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work prioritise workloads and meet daily deadlines
- Physically fit and able to undertake the manual requirements of the role, including lifting and carrying cleaning equipment, supplies and rubbish
- Comfortable travelling between the 6 onsite buildings, including regularly using staircases throughout the day
- Comfortable working in a hands-on environment and does not mind getting dirty when completing heavier cleaning tasks
- Reliable, punctual and well presented approach
- Commitment to high standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction
- Willingness to learn and follow company cleaning procedures and standards
Working Conditions
- Flexibility to work Monday to Friday and varying shifts as required, depending on the workload and onsite cleaning requirements
